USING ORIGAMI TO CREATE AN EQUILATERAL TRIANGLE FROM A SQUARE

Keep in mind that all sides of this triangle will be of equal length and the inside corners will be 60 degree corners.

Instructions

Step 1

Place your square down with one of its edges in a horizontal position.

Step 2

Make a horizontal center valley crease by folding the bottom edge up to meet the top edge. Crease and then unfold.

Step 3

Fold the top left corner down to meet the crease from Step 2, ensuring that a new crease line is formed starting at the bottom left corner. Keep folded.

Step 4

Turn model over from left to right.

Step 5

Repeat step 3. Keep folded.

Step 6

Tear along the sides or cut out the main body of the equilateral triangle and discard the extra pieces.

Tip: All corners and sides should match. To check your work, you can fold each side of the triangle in half. If the sides and corners match perfectly, your triangle is ready for use.
